Very scenic campus, however it is about the only good thing about the school. No activities on campus at all like other universities have, food is super overpriced and they keep making portions smaller. In terms of amenities, Trent University has less than even small colleges.

Beautiful campus, very green, well-designed and accessible. It was a pleasure to visit. The energy is just perfect. We loved spacious lawns, Student Center, the residences are also nice.

The Academic Registration and help is horrific. I had an Academic Advisor switch positions, and not email me back for two months when I was trying to ensure I had all my required courses as I was starting my third year. The Academic Callander is not up to date, so I have to reach out to the head of departments to ensure some courses fall under the proper categories in ERSC. Old knowledge is being taught, nothing innovative in regards to agriculture, just lots of theory with a lack of care to hear new upcoming ideas, as they only want white papered supported literature. There are some good people throughout the mess, and you should only go here if it has the program you need, do not go for any other reason, as it's a let down.

My daughter went to Trent. And while overall the experience, most professors and the facilities were great - there were some serious pitfalls. She took a double major in forensic psychology bachelor's of arts vs science. They ran out of room for her to get her degree in fourth year- because they didn't offer enough classes and spots for those enrolled? So they had to give her history and criminology credits and count them towards forensic and psychology. They apparently know that they don't have enough classes. But still allow more students than they can accomodate. She also tried to take ballistics for four years - Which they post and just put students on waitlists - but never actually had a professor to teach it. So each year she was hopeful and then disappointed. Also she went to Trent vs other universities because of the international exchange program. But the year she was eligible to do it - they didn't have the staff member who ran the program and didn't fill the position temporarily. Yet had students from abroad still doing exchange here, but she was not able to do her exchange. She is grateful for her experience and proud to be an alumni, but little administrative things which frankly should be easy to tweek and look after, really let her down. Carefully check into the reasons why you chose to enroll in their programs and ensure they are actually running the aspects before you decide to go here.

Absolutely beautiful university. As a student of the Durham campus, I am incredibly jealous of the lucky people who get to attend here for their classes.

Beautiful Campus, amazing professors, and great people. However their housing department sucks. They will bill you for the most idiotic/random things. I received a $450 charge for “lost keys” even though, I never received one. I also got a charge for “lost bins” even though I stacked them, and put them where I got them. They can charge you however much they’d like and you’d still have to pay because you ‘signed the bullshit contract’. Only thing you can do it get bullied in small claims court.

Trent gives me more than thirteen reasons why. They are committed to price gouging students at every step of the way, from $400-600 parking passes, mandatory $5000 dining plans (which still isn't even enough to feed you 3 meals a day), and the current introduction of predatory textbook policies that require you to do assignments THROUGH the textbook publishers website after a fee to ensure you can't share or save money. Additionally, my residence took place in the Traill college annex, which is a deeply unfortunate place to make students pay a premium price to live at. The rooms are unventilated hotboxes that even open windows can't fix, my window had spider eggs in it, the showers don't have doors or security, you have to pay for a second $400 parking pass, there is no kitchen or way to prepare your own food (reminder that the dining plan doesn't supply you for the entire semesters), the exterior is shared with a private elementary school, and the parking lot often freezes over in the winter because the private owners of the annex don't salt it in time. Not to mention there is no recycling whatsoever, meaning a tremendous amount of waste is made here. There are positives, such as a good student culture and very pretty campus, but i can't stress enough how predatory Trent is as soon as it's too late to turn back.

I recently had the pleasure of being part of Trent University’s orientation event, and I have to say, the team was phenomenal! The facilities are beautiful, the staff incredibly kind, and the first-year students were a joy to interact with. If I were to choose a university, Trent would absolutely be at the top of my list.

If you are a new student please be aware of hidden fees, if you drive to school you will still be required to pay for a bus pass every semester, of $158 regardless if you need it! You will also receive one email indicating benefits plan after that you will be required to pay an additional $400 from September to December for your benefits plan, doesn't matter if you have a plan you will be automatically enrolled and expected to pay an additional 600 every semester, so an additional $1800 per calendar year on top of tuition and textbooks plus other fees. Good luck with any assistance or help from Trent, all they do is send you from one department to another, with no help. However, they will constantly send emails for benefits plan payment, however, whenever you need help beyond student assistance, good luck it wont happen. Trent is not for students.

Be vary cautious and certain that you will be attending Trent before applying for residency. My daughter accepted her offer and applied for residency which we had to pay a 75.00 fee plus 500.00 deposit for the dorm. When she went to the open house, a professor from the course she applied to informed her that this may not be the right course to get her where she wants to be career wise. He also said the she should have had a few extra course in highschool to acccel at the ones she would need to take at the university which are NOT mentioned as suggested prerequisites. So she has withdrawn her conditonal acceptance and we canceled the residency almost 3 months before the closing date, before she was put in a time block or queue to even pick a room and they are only going to give us back 250. What a great way to start a student out. Still have not recieved any refund and communication is terrible...stay clear.

If you transfer out NO ONE WILL ANSWER YOUR REQUESTS. For 3 months I have been trying to get my tuition recipets from 2018 to 2021. I have emailed and left VM with NO REPLY. An auto email tells me to click the ticket. I click the ticket and am sent to my Trent account where I'm told "no ticket found". CRA doesn't have my tuition receipts. I cannot believe how for 3 MONTHS not one human has called me back.

I had an amazing experience at Trent University in my master degree. The campus is very beautiful, the faculty is dedicated and supportive, and the diverse range of programs provides excellent opportunities for personal and academic growth. The sense of community is strong, and the facilities are top-notch. I highly recommend Trent to anyone seeking a vibrant and enriching educational journey. Five stars without a doubt!"

DO NOT COME HERE. The administration mistreats students and takes advantage of international students. Everything they do is for show- they are not sustainable, they are not green, they will mess up all of your classes and finances. Enwayaang and indigenous studies are the only moral and respectful groups on campus.

A school famous for their 8am exam schedule (earlier than its earliest lecture time). Now, it is even worse with the parking. You wasted half an hour of your life to park and then miss 30 mins of the lecture. Ended up learning nothing before you leave.

Trent has one of the best professor I have ever had in my life (she is in the biology department), but Trent also has some not-so-great professors who did not have any university teaching experiences. Some senior professors in my program recently retired including the dean of the department, and it seems like Trent is having difficulty hiring qualified individuals because the new dean is from a completely different specialty who has no experiences in my specialty at all (and according to some of my peers, he has been very unprofessional and even rolled his eyes on the needs of the students during a meeting). If my friends ask me whether or not Trent is good, I don't know what to answer because saying bad things about my school does not do anything good to me, but I could not forget some of the bad experiences that I had.

I love Trent, its such a hidden gem and definitely has the most beautiful campus you'll ever see!! there's so much school spirit, not highly respected academically but a really fun time and since it's a smaller community it feels like a big home where you know everybody :)
