Uncle D’s Ice Cream (formerly Mike's Ice Cream)

Welcome back, we missed you!!! We love Mike and his shop! True staple in Secaucus. All the ice cream is good but it’s hard to breakaway from the norm, his homemade Oreo ice cream we’ve been eating for decades! Chunks of Oreos! The Oldskool name is Oreo Smash! Ask for it by name! The Nutella Coffee is also outrageously delicious! The Chocolate Chip Mint is so creamy! Enjoy!

Mike’s Ice Cream is a hidden gem in NJ with humble decoration. There is a great variety of flavors on their menu and the best thing is they serve healthier ice cream like non-fat or less sugar options. We had their Non-fat peanut butter fudge swirl & chocolate raspberry in size small to share with 2 people. It was delicious, creamy and you can barely tell the difference between the non-fat version and the regular one. However, we can’t finish all since it’s too sweet for us.

Greatest ice cream spot hands down. We got a medium with two flavors, chocolate raspberry truffle and oreo. It came out GIGANTIC and only came out to just over $5. The value is unbeatable. Pretty inconsequential but the what we were charged for a medium did not line up exactly what was on the menu ($3.66 if I recall), but we didn't bother asking since the price was great regardless.

Great ice cream and friendly service! I’m always hankering for some ice cream after some late night drinking and these guys definitely satisfied that craving!!

Very good Ice Cream, but the staff who is touching the dirty money is also serving the ice cream without glove or washing his/her hands.

Happy they reopened!!! We were unsure what we would do without Dusty Road!! I hope to see the Oreo cone again soon. Thanks for being the best ice cream spot around!

Very high quality home made ice cream! Interesting flavors and friendly staff. We met Mike as well, a very cool dude. Certainly worth stopping and finding street parking to get his ice cream.

I am updating my review... I enjoy eating ice-cream and have tried several brand name ice creams as well as local ones. But Mike's ice cream is the best of them all. The product is still good but ever since they have become tiktok popular, the service has gone way down hill. There are quite a few issues / recommendations... 1. Make sure that you check if the quart or pint is really full before you pay. (see the picture of how the quart was not even filled). They will charge you full but you may not get the full quantity. 2. Make sure that you asked for itemized billing. They will give you a lump sum number and you will get charged without knowing how much is each item you bought. 3. Get there earlier, to get better service. The later you go, the less energy of the staff, less flavors and poor service.

Mikes ice cream :: well last minute needed a cake for fellow worker , they last minute decorated this ice cream cake so beautifully , And the flavor ? Well 24 people all had a slice , and asked where this place the cake was from ! Raves from all ! Thank you mikes ice cream and staff for making a last minute decorating surprise incredible

I am obsessed with my local ice cream shop! I love their vegan flavors, and their Italian Ice is delicious. Definitely a go to place!

I love these ice cream. They have variety flavors even cakes & smoothies.

Saddest experience, they have these two kids (looked like they were 12 years old) working who were extremely rude and zero customer service skills. Rude because a toddler dropped the ice cream they made the parents repurchase the ice cream and they told the parents and advised rudley the toddler should buy a cup next time. Because they were little kids, the parents just remained stunned and walked away paying twice for the ice cream. Our first and last time at this unwelcoming place.

Best ice cream in Hudson county! The shop is very clean and the staff very helpful. Great number of ice cream flavor options. A must try if you're in Secaucus!

I'm from CT came down for American dream and stopped to get milkshakes and this little place is amazing!!! The best strawberry milkshake I've ever had!!!

Mikes ice cream was the best. Looking forward to the shop opening under Uncle D's again. Sorry to hear of mike's passing. We used to live in the apartments down the street and it was so awesome to have mike's in the neighborhood. We will be coming back to get ice cream and cakes from Uncle D's now.

I took devil dog flavor this was 2nd time visiting the store and 1st time I liked the devil dog flavor it was brownie ice cream so I visited again this time less ice cream and literally no brownie only whipped cream combined with little ice cream. Only whipped cream. I am really disappointed. And it’s very overpriced ice cream. Not at all worth.

So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. We are excited for this spot to reopen as the recent reviewer reported. This is hands down the best ice cream, we’ve been back many times for the chocolate raspberry truffle and dusty road, we’ve never found anything that matches up to either one
