Vanaparvam Biodiversity Park

A few months back, I visited Vanaparvam Bio Park, and the ambience was absolutely amazing. The cool climate, dense greenery, and wide variety of trees make this place feel refreshing and peaceful. Inside, there’s a small park-like area and the waterfalls were simply superb—very calming and full of positive energy. If you’re looking for a nature-filled getaway near Calicut, this is a must-visit spot. It is located in Engapuzha after Thamarassery, around 40 km from Calicut. From Engapuzha, you’ll need to travel about 5–6 km into a slightly remote area to reach the place, but the journey is totally worth it. Highly recommended for nature lovers

It's a good place for relaxation and fun. The swings are a hit for kids and even adults looking to relive their childhood. The walking trails are well-maintained, surrounded by lush greenery, and provide a serene environment for a peaceful stroll. The small river running through the park adds a charming touch, making it a great spot for nature lovers.

It's not a big attraction, but it's ok if you visit for just an outing. No big deal yet not bad. Kind of Waterfall. Different plants. Must be better when visiting at month of June. Ticket is of Rs-30/adult 15/children. No other expenses for camera. Any type of Identity Card is must for entry. Different types of butterflies are findable there. The pathways are of stones so be aware and it takes to the waterfall.

A very nice place to be in touch with the nature as it includes forests,waterfalls and many creatures that can take you to enjoy the beauty of an eco system. This place has an area wherein you can find so many butterflies ans many people come to photograph them. Also there so many types of birds too in this park and some of the endemic birds like Malabar Trogon can be seen here.

Beautiful place, surprised that I never heard about this place before. If you want to be in nature, in the forest, by the river, this is the place to be.

Forest base of the hill with well define hike path to reach small watefall formed by the stream, visited during rains it was beautifully green... not sure about hot days, beware of leaches during rains

It's a really good spot to visit. Try to visit at November or December so there will be a few water so we can play in the water. If you go here then you can also visit kakkad ECCO tourism. That spot is near to this place only 15 minutes from that area. Well if you are thinking of visiting this placeses come with vehicle bike or car, or else it will be really hard to go over there because there is no bus service I think i didn't see any. Both of this placeses has natural beauty. The entry ticket is 30per head and you have to show everyones I'd to get in.

The Vanaparvam Biodiversity Park at Kozhikode spread over 111.4 hectares is home to 2300 plant species, along with 150 species of herbal plants, 23 species of bamboo saplings and 20 varieties of orchids. Set in the Thamarassery forest range in Kakkavayal, it was originally set up as an ecotourism project. The natural forest area, nursery, orchidarium, bambusetum, butterfly garden, medicinal plants are highlights of the park. What draws in a majority of the crowd is the mystical Nakshatra Vanam (Star Tree Forest). There is also the bambusetum and orchidariums offer a variety of bamboo and orchid species, along with fern species. 111.4 ഹെക്ടറിൽ വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്ന കോഴിക്കോട്ടെ വനപർവ്വം ജൈവവൈവിധ്യ പാർക്കിൽ 2300 സസ്യ ഇനങ്ങളും 150 ഇനം ഔഷധ സസ്യങ്ങളും 23 ഇനം മുളത്തൈകളും 20 ഇനം ഓർക്കിഡുകളും ഉണ്ട്. കാക്കവയലിലെ താമരശ്ശേരി ഫോറസ്റ്റ് റേഞ്ചിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഇത് യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഒരു ഇക്കോടൂറിസം പദ്ധതിയായാണ് സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. പ്രകൃതിദത്ത വനപ്രദേശം, നഴ്സറി, ഓർക്കിഡേറിയം, ബാംബുസെറ്റം, ബട്ടർഫ്ലൈ ഗാർഡൻ, ഔഷധ സസ്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ പാർക്കിന്റെ ഹൈലൈറ്റുകളാണ്. ഭൂരിഭാഗം ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തെയും ആകർഷിക്കുന്നത് നിഗൂഢമായ നക്ഷത്ര വനമാണ് (നക്ഷത്ര വൃക്ഷ വനം). ബാംബുസെറ്റവും ഓർക്കിഡാരിയങ്ങളും ഫേൺ സ്പീഷീസുകൾക്കൊപ്പം വിവിധതരം മുളകളും ഓർക്കിഡുകളും വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Nice atmosphere and ambience of forest with small waterfalls and lakes. There is also many medicinal plants and ornamental plants and trees with their naming board and also a small garden like nursery structure is there. different kinds of birds and sometimes monkeys can be seen.The area is much good to spend some valuable time with families and kids who loves nature and it's vibes. There is several swings available here for adults and kids.And there is an entry fee of Rs.30 for adults and also extra parking fee too. Overall a good place to spend some valuable time in calm and quiet naturey place.
