Virasat-e-Khalsa at Anandpur Sahib is one of the most impressive and meaningful places to visit in Punjab. It is not an ordinary museum; it feels like a complete journey through Sikh history, culture, and values. Located near Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, many visitors come here after paying their respects at the gurdwara, and the experience beautifully connects spirituality with history. The first thing that attracts attention is the architecture. The large white sail-shaped buildings, surrounded by water pools, look modern and unique. From outside itself, the complex appears world-class. Entry is free, and the staff manages visitors in proper batches, so the inside never feels chaotic. Security staff and volunteers guide people politely, which makes the visit comfortable. Inside, the museum tells history through paintings, sculptures, lighting effects, and narration instead of just displaying old objects. The galleries begin with the time before Guru Nanak Dev Ji and then explain his teachings of equality, humanity, and service. As you move forward, the lives of the Sikh Gurus are shown in a very emotional and artistic way. The section about Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the creation of the Khalsa in 1699 is especially powerful and gives goosebumps. The stories of the Sahibzadas and the struggles of the Sikh community are presented respectfully and leave a deep impression on visitors. Even people who do not know much about Sikhism can easily understand the message. The museum is clean, air-conditioned, and well maintained. However, the full visit takes around two to three hours, and on holidays the waiting line can be long. Overall, Virasat-e-Khalsa is educational, emotional, and inspiring — a place every person visiting Anandpur Sahib should experience at least once.
