Wave Beach Resort

Начну с того, что в описаниях разных отелей указано приблизительное растояние до пляжа. В этом отеле это растояние можно смело указывать 0, так как отель с баром плавно переходят не то что бы на пляж, а прямо в океан, что очень здорово! Пляж не большой, но для постояльцев места хватает. Вид отменный! Листья деревьев, которые ростут прямо в бара нависают над водой в прилив. Кухня хорошая, благодаря харизматичному Шефу, который на все руки мастер. Бармен добрадушный, молодой, но внимательный. Официантки приветливые, милые. Менеджер делекатный и профессиональный, управляющий с супругой строгие, но на мой взгляд добродушные. Номера не супер, все есть и все с видом на океан, а по утру и на рассвет. Весь персонал гостеприимный и отзывчивый. В номерах убирают по просьбе. Чуть- чуть до очень хорошо не дотягивает, однако впечатление от прибывания в отеле положительные! Тем кто любит солнце, воду, пляжный песок на расстоянии вытянутой руки и хочет надёжно иметь вид на море -Рекомендую!

Отель Wave Beach Resort оставил очень смешанные впечатления. Главный и неоспоримый плюс — расположение. Океан буквально в 20 метрах, пляж под боком, локация в Унаватуне отличная. Но вот к сервису и номерному фонду есть вопросы. Размещение и сервис: Нас заселили ночью. То, что мы увидели сначала, повергло в шок. Нас отправили в «голубятник» на самой крыше — подниматься пешком очень высоко и тяжело (особенно после 20-часового перелета). На двери красовалась надпись «Deluxe», но по факту: плесень в ванной (на окнах, на ковриках), забитый слив (вода стояла болотом — очень скользко!) и жуткий шум от бойлера прямо над головой. Уснуть было невозможно. Решение проблем: На ресепшене сначала предложили подождать два дня, что меня не устроило. Ситуацию спас хозяин отеля — очень приятный и адекватный мужчина. Он лично поднялся со мной в этот ужасный номер, сам удивился, что туда селят гостей, а не персонал, и пообещал всё исправить. В итоге нас переселили на 2-й этаж в отличный, светлый и чистый номер. Нюансы, к которым нужно быть готовым: • Уборка: Ее практически нет. Полотенца и белье за всё время не меняли. Когда у нас в номере упал кусок штукатурки с потолка, по просьбе пришли и подмели мусор, но инициативы от персонала в плане чистоты не ждите. • Электричество: Когда уходите и забираете ключ — выключается всё, включая холодильник. У нас так пропали все продукты. Эту проблему тоже пришлось решать через администратора. Питание и персонал: Кухня в кафе при отеле — просто супер! Завтраки очень вкусные, сытные и качественные. Весь обслуживающий персонал (кроме первой смены на ресепшене) был очень вежливым, приветливым, тактичным и добрым. Итог: Если вам попался плохой номер — сразу идите к хозяину, он помогает. Отель выигрывает за счет кухни и близости к воде, но требует серьезного контроля за состоянием номеров и чистотой. Wave Beach Resort left us with very mixed feelings. The main and undeniable advantage is the location. The ocean is literally 20 meters away, the beach is right there, and the overall spot in Unawatuna is excellent. However, there are serious points to consider regarding the service and room quality. Check-in and Room Issues: We arrived at night and were initially shocked. We were sent to a "pigeon loft" on the very roof. It’s a very high climb on foot — exhausting after a 20-hour flight. Despite the "Deluxe" label on the door, it was a nightmare: mold everywhere in the bathroom (windows, mats), the shower drain was blocked (water stayed on the floor, making it dangerously slippery), and a noisy boiler right above the ceiling made it impossible to sleep. Management Response: The reception staff initially told us we’d have to wait two days for a change, which was unacceptable. Luckily, the owner stepped in. He is a very pleasant and reasonable man. He personally visited that attic room with me, was surprised that guests were being placed there instead of staff, and promised to resolve the issue. We were eventually moved to the 2nd floor to a great, bright, and clean room. Things to be aware of: • Housekeeping: Practically non-existent. Towels and bed linen were not changed during our stay. When a piece of plaster fell from the ceiling, a worker came to sweep it up only after we asked. • Electricity: Taking the key card turns off everything, including the fridge. All our food spoiled because of this. We had to contact the manager again to fix the situation. Dining and Staff: The food at the hotel cafe is excellent! The breakfasts were delicious, filling, and high quality. The service staff were very polite, tactful, respectful, and kind. Summary: If you get a bad room, go straight to the owner — he is very helpful. The hotel wins because of its kitchen and proximity to the ocean, but it needs much better maintenance and cleaning standards.

Ich bin zum 2. Mal hier im Turmzimmer. Vor zwei Jahren und jetzt gerade. Es wurde kräftig renoviert, das dunkle Holz ist einer hellen Gestaltung gewichen. Die Klimaanlage lässt mich kurz vergessen wie heiß es draußen ist. Heute morgen habe ich mir zum Sonnenaufgang einen Wecker gestellt und bin an den Strand gegangen. Unten an der Rezeption war die ganze Nacht ein Mitarbeiter vor Ort und der Besitzer gab mir bei der Buchung noch seine Telefonnumer für Notfälle. Als alleinreisende Frau fühle ich mich hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Gleich gibt es Frühstück bei Ran, der Mutter des Besitzers, gegenüber im Hot Rock😁

Das Zimmer war gross mit toller Aussicht, jedoch schmudelig und schlechter Geruch, Kakerlaken und viele Moskitos. Für uns ein Alptraum. Fenster im Bad voller Schimmel. Frühstück ungenügend, Preis-Leistung stimmte für uns nicht. Personal jefoch äusserst freundlich.

A good place if you want to stay near the ocean. Here the waves aren’t extremely intensive, so you can go swimming even with kids. The room is normal. If you need a water or fresh towels you can ask on the receptionist. There are also a towels for the beach as well as a place to lay at the beach for the customers. It free of charge. In the evening there is a loud music, so if you’re planning to go to bed earlier then 10, ask a room at the top. The stuff was helpful and when we had difficulties with the fridge they changed it immediately.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel! 🌟 The rooms were spotless, with beautiful views over the sea that made waking up each morning a true pleasure. The location couldn’t be better — right on the first line of the beach, with sunbeds and everything you need to enjoy a perfect day by the sea What really stood out, however, was the service. The staff were beyond exceptional — always attentive, warm, and genuinely willing to help with anything. For example, I once lost my sunglasses, and they contacted the place where I thought I’d left them, spoke directly with the owner, and even arranged a TukTuk to get me there. On the last day, before my flight, we spent the whole day at the beach — they kept our luggage safe and still let us use all of the hotel’s services, including the showers, so we could travel feeling fresh and relaxed. This kind of care and hospitality is rare to find, and it made our stay truly memorable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking not only for a beautiful beachfront escape but also for service that makes you feel completely taken care of. I can’t wait to come back!

Очень уютный отель прямо на пляже — просыпаешься под шум волн, а из окна открывается просто потрясающий вид! Тихо, спокойно, всё чисто и удобно — идеально для отдыха. Асока и Шрияни — замечательные хозяева, очень тёплые и гостеприимные. А Гаян — просто находка! Всегда рядом, всё знает, помогает с любым вопросом и делает это легко и с улыбкой. Завтраки вкусные, атмосфера душевная. Мне всё понравилось. Обязательно вернусь!

Сегодня уезжаем с этого отеля и Унаватуны. Расположение отеля очень хорошее. Рядом риф и есть что на нем посмотреть. Персонал очень доброжелательный и отзывчивый. Виды с балконов просто потрясающие. Завтраки сытные. С учетом что это Южная Азия отель нам понравился. Приезжайте сюда с позитивом и отдых у вас будет на пять балов. И да, недалеко от отеля много обезьян и павлинов. На следующий год планируем приехать на Шри и конечно же в этот отель. Отдельное спасибо Чаминде и Гаяну. Ребята, вы лучшие. 👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝

Были в данном отеле в декабре 2024 года. Погода прекрасная, океан прекрасный, вид из номера шикарный. Персонал улыбчивый, отзывчивый, доброжелательный. Администратор Гаян и завхоз Хасанта особенно трудолюбивые и обходительные. Всем ребятам успехов. Отель не большой, но милый.

Этот отель умеет удивлять. Сначала плюсы: отличное расположение, хорошие номера, хватает полотенец и подушек, хорошее белье. Хорошо работает вай фай. Есть потолочный вентилятор и кондиционер, мини-холодильник в номере. Доброжелательный и приветливый персонал, готовый помочь и подсказать. . Но, лично для меня, один минус перечеркнул все плюсы отеля. А это невозможность уснуть когда хочешь. Я проходила здесь квест: как уснуть на дискотеке. В ресторане на первом этаже очень громкая музыка, которая не давала заснуть. Если вы привыкли засыпать после 24.00 , то будет отличное проживание.

The room is right on the small street, so not always very quiet. At night, you can sometimes hear music from the bars. The beach is 40m away from the front door. The furnishings are high quality, great bathroom. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We felt comfortable and had a good Time.

So disappointed to find the the "luxury, sea view" hotel (which Google Maps incorrectly shows as being on the beach side of the road - it is on the landward side) has little luxury and no sea view from the first floor room (higher rooms can see the sea over the beach restaurants shown in my pictures from the first floor). The road is not particularly busy but there is street noise in the room. The "hotel" comprises a ground floor reception and stairs to 3 rooms (one per floor). There are no common areas to relax in out of the sun. The room is clean, the bathroom is nice but there are are no chairs in the room. You need to use one of the beach restaurants to find somewhere to sit if you need some shade. Also be aware that the resort is very busy with visitors from a large country east of Ukraine. We cancelled our 6 day stay after one night and went somewhere else ... considering that The Waves is not cheap it does not deliver a luxury experience.

Un anfitrión encantador. Atendiendo al precio desmesurado que habíamos pagado, se desvivió en atención y servicio e hizo nuestra estancia muy agradable. Nos facilitó buena información de restaurantes. Bonita vista del mar, del café frente al mar, y de la calle, desde la tercera planta. Habitación muy bonita y cuidada, de hotel de tres estrellas.

We absolutely love Wave Beach Resort! Every time we head to Galle, this is our go-to spot. Whether it’s relaxing with a cold beer or enjoying their delicious food, this place never disappoints. The management is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home every time we visit. The staff is just as wonderful—kind, attentive, and treating us like family. It’s rare to find a place with such warmth and genuine hospitality. The overall vibe of the resort is fantastic, with great food, drinks, and a lovely beachfront setting. Kudos to the team for managing this place so well. Keep up the great work! We’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Unawatuna.

Most of these beach restaurants are generally fine, but like many places, the food quality tends to drop during off-peak times. It often feels like some dishes are pre-made or reheated, especially in the morning. It could be that the main chef is only present during peak hours. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend having a main meal at these beach restaurants during the daytime.

We only experienced the bar and beach area but enjoyed hanging out here. Shisha for only 3000 rupees and there was a live DJ set with some great beats on 11/29/2024. The employees were super friendly and dancing/enjoying the music alongside the guests despite the rainy weather. Worth stopping by if there’s music going on.
