As a photographer I always watch the sky, you never know what could fly over. In September of 2023 I was fortunate to catch the latter part of the Air Show and it was AWESOME. I plan on photographing it this year when it returns to Waukegan.

The air show was awesome. The setup in the people working the show did a great job. The weather couldn't be better it was 70° out a cloud in the sky. The planes in the pilots were mind blowing. The two growlers are my favorite. When they blast by you you know it. The stunt flyers or a blast to watch. The food court had plenty of good selections. I had DeRango's Pizza and it was very good. It couldn't have been a better day or event. Nice job.

Super fun place. I had a lesson from Chris today and he was very informative. I enjoyed my lesson today with him and I recommend anyone who has a slight interest in flying to take atleast a flight with these guys. My flight ran me about 200 dollars but it's a good price for what you are shown and taught.

I'm a resident of Waukegan and on Friday night we kept getting buzzed by planes. I called the police department and was informed that they were practicing for the air show. Why were they flying so close to people's houses? Anyway no one answered the phone. I tried to leave a voicemail on all three of the senior staff phones but when it came time to leave the message the machine hung up. Very poor customer service. Staff your company better and do a better job with your events. So so disappointed 😞.

I don't fly here, but I do sometimes go plane spotting here. We were able to get inside, and there was a very nice lounge with comfy seats and a big flat screen TV. I caught a Private B737-700 landing here, and it turns out the President Of Boeing was on that plane. They allowed me to enter the cockpit, got some pictures, and he came in. The president gave me his Boeing hat (not so sure why) and I left. It turns out they were refueling to continue it's journey to the London Airshow! Lucky time to be there! And also, there was a very nice front desk lady where you can ask about the weather, time of flight, etc! I'd recommend checking it out!

🤠🤗🤩✈️🛩️🛫🚁🚀🛬✈️ My wife used to fly out of Waukegan airport with Abbott Laboratories. A couple of times vice president Cheney landed at this Airport with a specially-designed C-130 which would take off and land on a very short Runway. They have the air shows there every year, and it's a nice place to let little kids watch the planes take off and land. If you want to learn how to fly, they have several schools on the property. They've talked about expanding the airport for larger Jets to land commercially, I hope that will happen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😁

Don't really fly so I can't say much about those amenities. However it's a great spot for plane spotting when you see something interesting or not the usual flying in the area. It's not all Cessnas, business jets, and kit planes. Many planes make pit-stops here on their way elsewhere on business or show circuits, so you do see some WWII classics on occasion. (One of the "flying museum" groups is home based here, but it's not by the public area of the south lot. You see them come and go at times.) You also see some helicopter traffic from the Coast Guard, News, medical, and other random services that use them in the area along with some local club pilots that fly Robinsons. Not to mention this airport itself also hosts a fairly large regional airshow in September, which is worth checking out.

Came in with a TBM and parked at Signature Aviation. (Single engine bird) Over $200 landing fee! (waived with 60 gallons of fuel at prices just under an ounce of gold) Nope, no CAA fuel pricing here. Their call button out front when you return doesn't work properly so be prepared to wait out front. Next, the linesmen need training. When they chalked my wheels, they put them under the gear doors so when they fueled, the plane squatted and the gear doors sunk into the chalks. Thousands in $$$ for repair potentially. Luckily, the rubber chalks gave enough, so no damages. If a national FBO is going to charge a fortune (highest I've seen) to land and a fortune for fuel, you'd expect they could properly and safely handle multimillion dollar aircraft. And maybe have a working door out front so you can get back to your plane afterwards. And how about CAA for the jet pilots???

Great GA airport. Good runways, and a very helpful tower. Fuel is high, but the FBI is Signature, so that's why. There are many places in the area with cheaper fuel. There are instrument approaches for RW 23 and 05 (ILS and LPV respectively). Friendly pilot community.

Northern Illinois AirShow returns 9/9/2023. Bigger and better than ever. Gates open 9:30am, show starts at Noon. Military and civilian air show performances.

Very informative and the aircrafts are a part of history. Definitely should bring kids to see these. Hoping next year they have another air show!
