The University of Windsor, perfectly positioned at 401 Sunset Ave near the world’s busiest international border crossing, is consistently highlighted in my professional and local circles as a specialized powerhouse where the substantive synergy between automotive engineering and international law creates an exceptionally practical academic edge. Through numerous insightful dialogues with industry experts and successful alumni, it is merytorically evident that UWindsor offers a high-caliber, career-focused environment, frequently praised by my acquaintances for its unique ability to turn its proximity to Detroit into a laboratory for cross-border innovation and advanced manufacturing. It is truly heartening to observe how the institution maintains such a transparent and respectful dedication to student research and social justice, qualities that the broader community recognizes as the vital engine behind its status as a premier hub for Great Lakes environmental science and human kinetics. Many individuals I know personally emphasize the university’s sophisticated synthesis of a tight-knit campus feel and global-scale industrial partnerships as a distinguished hallmark of institutional excellence. The institution's relentless commitment to regional economic development is frequently reflected in the success stories shared by my peers, who often mention the university’s role as a primary catalyst for the new era of electric vehicle technology and automation. Ultimately, in the collective view of informed observers, the University of Windsor stands as a distinguished pillar of Canadian higher education, rightfully respected for its elegant ability to merge traditional scholarly rigor with the hands-on demands of a rapidly evolving global economy.

I would not recommend doing a Master’s or PhD in engineering in Ontario because PEO mainly considers a Bachelor of Engineering from Ontario for P.Eng licensing. Even if you have a bachelor’s degree from a different province or country, you may still be required to write additional technical and non-technical exams. These exams can cost at least $1,000, which makes it feel like Master’s and PhD degrees in Ontario are not fully valued anymore or it is just scam to make money from international student.

Professors that don't lift a finger, take pride in how many students they fail (as if that somehow feeds their ego that they're so smart), they just spit out the lecture in unintelligible English where 90% of the class looks at each other in confusion and we just end up self-teaching, and they refuse to see you for help, you pretty much get lucky if you find a TA that can give you tips, or you hire yourself a tutor... or you fail. The part that really grinds my gears, however, is how their administration operates. Their phones are answered for 3-4 hours out of any given day (minus the weekends), their offices are empty/closed, and if you DO finally find someone, they don't want to help. They'll find any excuse to transfer you or tell you to visit a different department, knowing full well that they won't help you. Or they direct you to a poorly written website that answers fewer questions than a tree. And good luck if you send them an email. You'll see a reply to it in a month or two no matter how life-alteringly urgent it may be. This institution is a money grab and nothing more. Every student that I've seen succeeding can only do so because they have connections in previous years and can copy their work. I spent 3 years of my life at this dump before I dropped out and moved to a different university. Wasted money, wasted time, and it crippled my life in terms of academic advancement and I missed out on so many career opportunities because of it. I literally took on useless debt going here. I wish I never went here.

Been a student here for around a half a year, no complaints so far. There are a lot of recreational spots for students.

Less opportunities for engineering students to grow in their fields and get practical experience and once you miss the co op form you cannot expect to get a co-op and also they don't permit you to get a coop outside even if you get a coop work permit although some professors are really working here for the sake of science and students benefit

Very nice my friends and I gather to play multiple card games to keep our minds working. All age groups from 30 to 70! We have a great time learning and the facilities are very welcoming.

At this university, international students pay 2 to 4 times more than domestic students, yet receive very little in return. Career services are outdated, with no strong ties to industry, no co-ops or internships, and no real-world learning opportunities. The university doesn’t track graduate outcomes, leaving students with no clear career path. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a better future.

This institute used to be good, but it got really bad, do some good research on your professor, some of them are really lazy, they don't respond to your emails, they don't send you email that classes are canceled and you end up going and finding out there is nobody there. I would not recommend this institute for anyone unless you want a headache and unwanted stress. Believe me find yourself another university.

Horrible stress on their students ... Small class sizes unfair enrollment policies and it's almost impossible to keep on a timeline with no class availability. Many biases for students who are just regular people, great if you are not Canadian you will be treated well then. Canadian students be aware.

I would not recommend this University to anyone ever. There is no administrative support whatsoever. The residence is terribly managed and the administration obviously doesn't give a fig about the student body. It's also right by the border crossing and is so loud students cannot concentrate on their studies. Do not attend this horrible institution unless no other University will have you or your children.

Ranked #547 globally... that's good..........But academic reputation is 3.9/100 as per same QS ranking.... and you guys are expecting 70/100 for students to pass course. How does it make sense??? worst ever achievement i have ever seen.

My friends, I was accepted into this university for a PhD in 2021. After arriving in Canada and coming to register, I was prevented from entering the university. My file was deactivated, and I couldn’t register on time. After much insistence, they temporarily activated my file, but three days later, they told me my IELTS was expired and asked me to obtain an equivalent score of 8 within less than a week. In the cold of Windsor, I got an infection in my foot, and the doctor said my foot needed to be amputated, but the university provided no guidance or assistance with activating my health insurance. During my illness, I took the Duolingo exam and barely missed the required score. As a result, I was expelled, and they didn’t grant me two terms, whereas other nationalities did not face such requests. I hired a lawyer, but even my lawyer was threatened. I attended the settlement court session alone. I want to say that you, the officials of the University of Windsor, are the most unprofessional. I will see you soon in federal court. You are all recist. Shame on you.

Money-grabbing and racist institution. While I understand that the Master of Management program is not one of the main priorities of this school, I did not think it would treat students this badly. This is the first time I have seen students unable to pick their classes to suit their timetable because the school doesn't feel like it. Professors would just read slides and understand only theories. When we asked them about the real-life application, they couldn't explain and said: "what I said is only theoretical." Student intake is so bad that when you assign team projects, you always get paired up with people who either have lazy work ethics, never show up, or don't understand English enough to comprehend what needs to be done. On top of that, there's no requirement to become a teacher assistant (TA). The TA that these professors help will grade your exams outlandishly and dish out serious accusations such as plagiarism incorrectly. Many friends of mine suffered from severe depression due to these accusations, only for them to retract later and offer a simple apology. They should get sued for this; you can't just accuse people of academic dishonesty without proof. Also, on the first day of school, many students from our country asked the staff in the CAW why the school did not hang the correct flag of our country. We got the response of: "maybe, not everybody likes Communism" from the lady at the front desk. So much for diversity and inclusion.

Overall good education and academic experience here (specifically in Computer Science). Found professors and TAs supportive of the students as well as the staff for admin stuff. Facilities were nice for study and some of them fairly new. Campus life is not very big but it is here if that is your thing. I also enjoyed that it was a somewhat calm city which definitely helped my focus here i think and to stick to a routine. Definitely a great place if youre looking for somewhere to get your degrees and buckle down to excel. Would recommend any potential students to come here if they find a program for them and have that aforementioned purpose in mind.

Best university experience for someone studying a bachelor of engineering. Very easy compared to other Universities, i came from Carleton.. trust me on this. Also student life was heaven, i liked the weed and quieteness.
