When it comes to institutions for "higher learning", this place is the bottom of the barrel. The campus is located in the city's finest and most safe area. You'll be able to view some of the finest members of society in their natural habitats. Be sure to carry personal protection at all times. You don't want to be caught outdoors once the sun has set.

DEC. 18, 2025. SHUT-DOWN. Malls were open. Dollarama was open. Public library was open. But U of W? How pathetic is the U of W? Never trust this place and any other university for that matter. Life happens and adult schools can't handle anything. Millions in profit by the way.

Ever wonder why U of W keeps getting lawsuits against them? How it is run is bad. And if the staff with carts come out of elevators and you are injured, yes, file a lawsuit.

Having recently started my post-graduate program here there are few things which I found out are pretty amazing. First the location of the university is very good in terms of overall connectivity. Next the architecture and construction is simply superb. Coming to the facilities it has got everything including soccer field as well. There is a study area facility where one can sit and study in complete silence. Apart from that the staff and the professors are highly learned and knowledgeable and will help you understand anything and everything you want under their purview. University has a number of courses to offer. And they are the best when it comes to excellence

Horrible university, and if you ever need to call the university good luck getting ahold of anyone. I’ve been trying to get ahold of someone at the university for weeks now, no one ever answers and if you think leaving a voicemail would help you are wrong. Left many voicemails and no call back. Very disappointing, you would think after ripping everyone off with the ridiculous tuition fees they would at least be able to answer the phone.

I attended the University of Winnipeg for one year in 2025 as an undergrad political science major. The main issue I have with this school is the difficulty to get any clear communication about the processes of registration, class changes, transcripts, scholarship, etc. It is downright impossible to get consistent answers from anybody and if you do email somebody prepare to wait a week for a response. Other than that, the classes were small and well taught. Some questionable professors but overall the teaching was good. I have major issues with the campus living and food, please be well informed on those institutions because they are also incredibly inefficient and downright scams. Also be aware that this university is going broke. They rely on the tuition money of international students whose enrollment is going down. So prepare for things to get worse. The university is also pretty socially dead with little to no active student clubs. Over all I would have never attended this university.

One of the worst university. Let me tell everyone that this university is going broke since the number of enrollment is getting less it is costing more and more to international student so better be careful. Just a month ago it was showing $9000 something fees for a semester but now within a month they changed it to $10,000 something. Are you kidding me? Just think of someone who thought by working and with parents help we would take out this much particular amount and suddenly they increased it!!! Disgusting.. I just wish more and more people to come up and post the real review about it. One more thing there is no actually active club where students are participating they just making money out of us in the name of education! Horrible experience. Before taking admission make sure to check these facts.

I did my undergrad in Modern Languages here. Great experience. Good administration. Great professors. Great classes. Small class sizes. It's a scent-free zone so people who suffer from allergies and asthma would be very comfortable here. Not many interesting university activities.

University of Winnipeg! It’s a well-regarded institution located in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba. Known for its strong focus on undergraduate education, the university offers programs in arts, science, business, and more. Its small class sizes and approachable professors create a supportive learning environment.

It was quite helpful that the site was right on the street corner. It was easy to find. I was right in the centre feeling the University vibe. Both the exterior and interior, the building was clean and well maintained. The lobby area was inviting and it gave an extra layer of comfort that security was friendly, alert and available at all times. The highlight of my stay was my interaction with site staff. Staff Lavkiran was engaging right from the start. With her confidence, I knew right away that she is knowledgeable in her field of work. The site walkthrough was thorough. She allowed for ample time for question and answer. After settling in, I reached out again for a few follow-up questions. Each concern was properly addressed. Attentive, task-oriented and excellent in customer service are the three top words that come to mind if asked to describe her. As expected, she was able to deliver a high level of customer service. In the entirety of my stay, I knew I could lean on her for support to make my stay worry-free and worthwhile. Thank you for taking care of me in Winnipeg. The wonderful experience surely sparked interest in returning to Manitoba. Thank you so much.

Great to be here as a joint master's student at U.Winnipeg and U.Manitoba. Both universities are gorgeous!

I love going to school here! Small class sizes, interesting topics, and many students invested in promoting social change for the better.

Avoid coming here if you can. It’s been very apparent throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the ransomware/cyber-attacks, and countless problems with administration and their student finance department that the university does not place any care on their students. There is never any accountability taken by the university, never any apologies, never any remorse, empathy, or reasoning. Not to mention, there is often a lack of course choice and flexibility, many of which are taught by instructors from a foreign country, thus causing problems with understanding lecture material due to broken English. Many of the students I’ve spoken to have zero pride in this institution and all for good reason. Take your money elsewhere. The UWinnipeg simply does not deserve it.

Any grad/alumni support is awful. With no warning they terminate your student email before you have a chance to move any of your accounts. I used that email as my personal account for years. Then when you ask for help, they feed you some fake line about how the can’t help you. I paid a ridiculous amount of tuition, they leaked my personal information, the classes we menial for the most part and now when I need something from them I get the run around. Welcome of U of W, where they do not care about you at all. This Alumni will never donate to this university.

The sudden increase in fees (min. $1000), each year. It shakes the whole finance calculations as an international student. very Disappointing it is.

University of Winnipeg will delete all of your accounts and old coursework shortly after you graduate with absolutely no notice and then will be no help when trying to track documents down. Good luck filing your taxes I guess.

Was there for volleyball. Nice facilities

I have had a horrible experience with this university… nobody even responds to the emails or phone calls . Quiet rude , arrogant administration . Definitely not suitable for an international student, their international student dept. doesn’t even answer the emails and don’t really care how emergent your matter/case is .. i would never ever choose or recommend this university to anyone .. and will inform and educate the ones who are seeking admission in this college about their shallow policies ..

Very unprofessional admin staff. If you are a student here, be very careful. I was given a make up exam by Debbie machula who effectively gave me the wrong course exam! Later , she blamed me for raising my concerns about the error and that I should take it up for the professor ( who was not present). She subsequently left the examination room, only to return 2 hours later. This was never addressed and I suffered with a failing grade as a result. Be forewarned.
