Yala Cafe & Coffee Shop

One of my fav spots for delicious food in Kathmandu 😍 I kept coming back here during my stay. The service is always fast and staff are super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the veg thali set! 💚

I had a wonderful dining experience at this café. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my visit. They regularly checked whether I needed anything and always served with a smile. As it was my first time trying a traditional Nepali Thali, the staff patiently explained how the meal is traditionally enjoyed, introduced the different dishes, and made me feel comfortable experiencing local cuisine for the first time. Their kindness and enthusiasm added a lot to the experience. The food was delicious, authentic, and generously portioned. Considering the quality of the food and the excellent service, the prices were very reasonable and offered great value for travelers. I highly recommend this café to anyone visiting Kathmandu and looking to experience traditional Nepali food in a friendly and welcoming environment. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so enjoyable!

I had breakfast here everyday during my stay and it was perfect ✨ The staffs were so friendly and welcoming, breakfasts were hot and delicious and very filling. A good place to just sit and have a peaceful meal. Breakfast specials come with a complimentary tea also. The bread here was some of the yummiest bread I’ve had. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and I’ll surely be back next time I visit 🥰

My first meal in Kathmandu was a fantastic experience. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, and the atmosphere was very inviting. I sampled several starters along with the Dal bhat. Definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone!

The place was very nice. The interior felt warm and inviting. The food was worth the price. We ordered chicken momos, pork thali, and grilled chicken, everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. Overall, we really enjoyed the dinner and will definitely come back.

Sehr nettes Restaurant/Cafe mit tollem, ruhigen Garten im Innenhof. Wir waren während unseres Aufenthalts in Kathmandu 3x dort essen und es war immer sehr gut. Die Kellner und Kellnerinnen waren auch sehr freundlich und hatten einen guten Humor. Besonders gut haben mir hier die Momos geschmeckt.

This is objectively the greatest cafe on planet earth. Believe me. I’ve tried them all. Lalit is also a great dude who works there. Went here five times in two days. Carrot cake is off the chain. Try the spicy sauce momo thing. Crazy good. Coffee also slaps. Even if the food sucked I would still come here because the staff are the nicest people in this world. I would live here if I could and eat every meal here. If you don’t come here or you come here and you don’t like it, there is something wrong with you. And if you don’t like the people here then you need to look in the mirror and take it as a personal indictment on your character. Sorry if this review is aggressive the carrot cake and caffeine has me all hopped up. We love Yala cafe !!!!!

Me and my Dad ate here everyday that we were in Kathmandu. The staff are incredible so friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious so fresh. I have been to Nepal several times and Yala do the best momos

カトマンズ、タメル地区にあるおしゃれなネパール料理のレストラン。ロウソクの明かりなど雰囲気抜群で、盛り付けも綺麗。客層は観光客多め。 ターリー（ダルバート）は野菜、チキン、ポークの3種類と少し寂しいですが、味はなかなか。Authentic Nepali Thali Veg 430ルピー、Chicken499ルピー。ビール380ルピー。ポップコーンがついてきます。

Highly Impressed! First time in Nepal did not disappoint with Yala Cafe's Nepali Thali set. As you can see, I finished it all. The chicken sauce tho I couldn't, why? I was full and by full, I mean, FULL. Paired with Masala Chai, it makes a perfect brunch combo. Try it out and be impressed yourself!

We had delicious food at Yala cafe. We had two serves of Chilli Momos, and a serving of the Mongolian tofu dish, which was also lovely. The staff here were very sweet and attentive and we’re happy to help with anything. Highly recommend checking out this place when you’re in Kathmandu.

Had Egg Benedict — it was really good! The place felt a bit chilly for winter, but the staff were super friendly and polite. Bhakta was especially warm and cheerful. Enjoyed the service overall. 👍

Wann immer ich in Kathmandu bin (und das ist häufiger der Fall), freue ich mich auf „mein“ Yala Café. Der Service ist stets freundlich, aufmerksam, sympathisch. Egal ob draußen im Garten oder innen, auch das Ambiente ist angenehm. Und das Essen? Ein Traum. Egal ob traditionelle Küche oder Eigenkreationen, es ist immer lecker. Vielen Dank und bis zum nächsten Mal!

Yala Cafe was hands down my favorite spot during my time here. Everything was spot on: • Service: The staff was incredibly polite and attentive. They have a great sense of timing—always there when you need them, but never intrusive. It makes for a very relaxed experience. • Overall: Everything was simply excellent. You can tell they really care about their guests. A must-visit if you’re in the area. I can’t recommend it enough!

such a cute place a little hidden from the main street. which means it’s quiet 😊 you can see the stars at night. our waiter lalit was very nice and friendly. he even offered to take picture for us! very affordable price. please try the thali and soup momo 😊

我在加德滿都最喜歡的餐廳，連續吃了兩天，我最喜歡masara tea一杯70盧比，作為飯後發呆用的飲料超舒服的，我常常在尼泊爾喝到加熱後浮奶皮的奶茶，可是這間餐廳的沒有一次有！！ （甚至太好喝了有次還點了兩杯） momo有煎的版本，咖喱醬沒有奇怪的油味或辣味，味道很棒！蕃茄湯喝起來也不化學，很好喝～ 第二天吃了炒麵也是不油膩，有菜有蛋營養均衡！氣氛很好服務也非常棒，被照顧得非常周到！

A charming cafe and restaurant in the heart of Thamel. The food here is so good. Went for breakfast, had the eggs Benedict. Was so good that we went there for lunch as well. Had the chicken Thali. Was amazing too. Highly recommend.

Really nice experience at YALA Cafe! The Thali set is delicious and authentic. A big thank you to our waiter Bhakta for his excellent and friendly service, he made our day. Only downside: some customers were smoking inside, which affected the atmosphere. Otherwise highly recommended!

お店の雰囲気がとても良いのとスタッフの方達のサービスが素晴らしく、カトマンズ滞在中に2回ここで食事をしました。ここのダルバートはちょうど良い量で味付けも最高でした！ネパールを去る前にもう一度行きたかったのですが時間がなく断念。また次回必ず食べに行きます。素敵な料理とサービス、ありがとうございました⭐︎
