Zostel Gokarna

I had the worst experience staying here. The property itself is beautiful, with amazing views, and we were staying in the cottages. Unfortunately, the management completely ruined what could have been a wonderful stay. Despite repeatedly raising our concerns, the staff made no effort to resolve the issues. There was extremely loud music playing until 3–4 AM every night, along with people shouting, singing at the top of their voices, and blasting speakers late into the night. It was impossible to get a proper night's sleep. I called the management several times requesting them to control the noise, but they outright refused to help. I was told that this is a regular occurrence and that if I wanted to complain, I was free to do so because they couldn't do anything about it. Such a response is unacceptable from a hospitality establishment. Paying a premium for cottage accommodation and then having to endure sleepless nights due to noise and poor management is simply not acceptable. The location may be great, but the management is absolutely pathetic. This was one of the worst and most disappointing stay experiences I have ever had.

Visited Zostel Gokarna during my Gokarna trip and had an amazing stay experience. The property offers a beautiful beach view with a calm and relaxing vibe that makes the trip even more memorable. The place was very clean, hygienic, and well maintained throughout the stay. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for travelers looking to chill and enjoy nature. Whether you choose a cozy cottage or a dormitory stay, both options are comfortable and worth it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gokarna and looking for a peaceful stay near the beach!

I stayed here for 2 weeks and it was great, the location the community managers and even the cafe peeps. I would like to give a big shoutout to Aditya, Bharat, Vaibhav and Gajendra for making me feel at home throughout my stay! The property is right in front of the main beach, and the other beach and hilltop are barely 15 minutes away so you're always close to something good. They also have daily activities lined up, which keeps things exciting. I personally did beach treks, kayaking and scuba, and everything was super well managed. Getting here is easy too autos and your own vehicle both work fine. If you’re staying here you’re signing up for a good time :))

The rooms are okay. Please do not order sunny side ups in breakfast if you like eggs, its very bad. Sandwichs are okay. Private cottage is nice The mantra cafe service very bad and the food is not good. You can always go to this nearby cafe called halfway home for any type of food it's way better.

Secluded place but at one of the most scenic locations overlooking the beautiful Kudle Beach. Food at Mantra cafe is okay-ish with very limited varieties. Vicinity to the Mahabaleshwar Temple as well as the market makes the location perfect for a stay. Lot of activities are organised by the Zostel team during weekends. We stayed there for 3 days & not a single second seems to be boring at Zostel campus.

I truly have no words to describe my stay at Zostel Gokarna—it was simply perfect. I stayed in the female dorm for 7 nights and 8 days, and every moment was memorable. The location is absolutely stunning—you can spend hours just sitting and watching the sea. The sunsets are mesmerizing and something I’ll never forget. The staff is warm, friendly, and always ready to help. A special shoutout to Adi and Sanchit for making the experience even more wonderful. The sunrise trek and sunset cruise are absolute must-do experiences! The live band added such great energy to the place. Overall, my solo trip was incredibly fun, all thanks to Zostel. The vibe there is just amazing.

The location was splendid with an amazing sea view. Cleanly maintained dorms. Mantra cafe is a beautiful spot to sit and work. But definitely not the right spot to meet people of your kind. People mostly come there as a group and it’s too hard to get the OG backpacker hostel vibes there.

This place is absolutely fun! We went for a workation there for a week and had loads of fun even during the off-season. They make sure everyone feels welcome. What makes this place great is the view from the common area and the close proximity to the beach. I’d definitely visit again.

This Zostel has a beautiful view of the main beach. The community manager - Adi is very friendly and planned a lot of activities during my stay. I thoroughly enjoyed morning beach trek and evening sunset cruise. The food was also great in Mantra cafe. And they have great WiFi connection in case one wishes to work.

I had a fantastic experience at Zostel Gokarna! We booked a dormitory for 3 people, and we were fully satisfied with our stay. The rooms and common areas were incredibly neat and clean. One of the best parts is the in-house restaurant inside the compound; they have a great variety on the food menu, so you don't even need to step out. The location is perfect with the best view of the beach, and the customer service was top-notch. Highly recommended!

Zostel Gokarna I recently visited Zostel Gokarna during a trip with my friends. Although we did not stay here due to budget constraints, we did explore the property in person, and I must say it is one of the best and most well-maintained stays in Gokarna. The price for one person is around ₹1600 per day, which was slightly above our budget for this trip, so we opted for a local stay instead. But after seeing the property, we genuinely felt that the pricing matches the quality they provide. If we had the budget for this trip, we would have definitely stayed here. The Zostel campus is quite large, clean, and gives a very youthful, backpacker-friendly vibe. The ambience is peaceful, and it gives you the feeling of being in a proper travel community space. One major advantage is the ample parking space, which is rare in many tourist stays around Gokarna. There is also a café inside the property, which is a great convenience for guests. The café has a nice setup, perfect for relaxing, working, or just chilling with friends. The entire property looks professionally maintained, and the staff interaction we had was polite and helpful. Even though we didn’t stay here, visiting Zostel Gokarna itself gave us a good impression. It’s ideal for solo travellers, backpackers, and groups looking for a lively, comfortable stay. If your budget allows, I would definitely recommend considering Zostel Gokarna for your trip.

Honestly, I had high expectations from Zostel because I’ve previously stayed at Zostel Bhor/Laida, where the service was a solid 10/10. However, this experience was quite disappointing. The staff didn’t bother to welcome us, and even when we approached them with questions, they seemed uninterested in helping. It felt more like we had just booked a place to stay and would leave, rather than being treated as guests. They also created a group to share activity updates, but the activities were quite expensive and there was no proper communication or engagement with the guests around them. I hope they take this feedback positively and work on improving how they treat guests and deliver an overall better experience.

The manager is very rude. We were facing an issue related to Zostel's policy and we wanted to connect with the central team. First of all there AI assistant is very slow. So we asked at the reception to help us to connect to the central team, even though he had connect with them still he didn't help us and just kept saying that ask the assistant. He kept arguing and stating the policy. We just wanted to try for the last time but we did not get any help from his side. The rooms were not that great and AC was also leaking. The view was nice but you can get better views from other property which is next to it ( hostellife property).

I stayed in 6 bed Female dorm room. My husband stayed in common dorm. The room was okay. Lockers are available. Washrooms can be better. The view is of Gokarna beach from the top which is amazing. To get to zostel Gokarna you have to go through bumpy road for some distance. One another point to be kept in mind is that there are no shops/medicals etc nearby. The food, service and ambiance in Mantra Cafe is very good. The serviec provided by reception staff can be improved. My husband and I had requested to upgrade to a private room if one becomes available. We were ready to pay for the difference. We saw one room vacant, upon inquiry they said that the guests checked out in the evening but they did not have any cleaning staff so could not assign that room to us.

Amazing property with stunning views and super clean dorms. The vibes are always great, thanks to the super helpful staff , special shoutout to Adi, the property manager, who keeps everyone engaged and brings incredible energy, Lohit and Vishal at the reception who’s always ready to help with a smile. Only suggestion: adding curtains to the dorm beds would make it perfect. Highly recommended! 🌊✨

Had a good stay at Zostel Gokarna. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Bathrooms could have been a bit bigger, and we did face some hot water issues, which could definitely be improved. Food was good and satisfying. One of the highlights of the stay was the activities conducted by the staff — they were fun and well organised. Lohith truly stands out among all the staff, very friendly, energetic, and made the experience memorable. Overall, it was a good experience. Just a heads-up: reaching the property in a four-wheeler is not recommended due to the approach road. Would still recommend for the vibe and experience

I recently stayed at Zostel Gokarna and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I had booked a private cottage, expecting it to be as comfortable and well-maintained as my previous stay at Zostel Munnar, but it fell short in several ways. The wash basin was leaking, and the exhaust fan wasn’t working properly, which made the room quite uncomfortable. The overall maintenance of the room really needs attention, it didn’t feel as clean or well-kept as I’ve come to expect from Zostel properties. After having such a great experience at Zostel Munnar, this stay was a real letdown. I hope the management takes note and improves the maintenance of their private rooms because the location and vibe have so much potential

This place is an absolute heaven to chill. With the location on top of a cliff with view of the beach and Arabian Sea, it's feels so relaxing. Had booked Zostel as part of KTM India organized Adventure Rally in Goa. Few of us riders had a party time enjoying the drinks and the view.

Loved my stay at Zostel Gokarna! The place is huge with an unbeatable view. Great crowd, smooth management, and a special shoutout to Adi, he’s doing a fantastic job as the community manager. Mantra cafe needs to do better, but overall a fun place! Highly recommended!!

There are far better places to stay in Gokarna. Hospitality here is practically non-existent. The photos posted online are misleading and make the place look far better than it actually is. In reality, it feels like just five randomly put-together rooms being passed off as a “deluxe” stay. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
