**Mirror Hall (Talar-e Ayaneh / تالار آیینه)** is one of the most famous and spectacular halls inside **Golestan Palace** in Tehran, Iran. Built during the **Qajar period**, construction began in the **1870s** under the reign of **Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (1848–1896)** and was completed around **1880**. The hall was designed by the renowned Persian architect **Haj Abolhasan Memar Bashi (Sani-ol-Molk)**.
The hall is famous for its extraordinary **mirror work (Ayeneh-Kari)**, a traditional Persian decorative art in which thousands of small mirror pieces are arranged to create dazzling geometric patterns and reflections. The interior also features elegant paintings, stucco decorations, chandeliers, and carefully designed architectural details that represent the artistic peak of the Qajar court.
Mirror Hall was used for important royal ceremonies, official receptions, and meetings with foreign dignitaries. One of the most famous historical paintings of the Qajar era, created by **Kamal-ol-Molk**, depicts **Naser al-Din Shah sitting in the Mirror Hall**, preserving the image of this magnificent royal space.
The hall reflects the cultural changes of 19th-century Iran, combining traditional Persian craftsmanship with new artistic influences from Europe. Its glittering interior was designed to impress visitors and demonstrate the wealth and sophistication of the Qajar royal court.
Today, Talar-e Ayaneh remains one of the highlights of **Golestan Palace**, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is considered one of Tehran’s finest examples of Persian decorative architecture. A must-visit place for lovers of art, history, and royal architecture.
