بافت قدیمی شهر انارک روی تپه ای سنگی بنا شده و دارای کوچه هایی باریک و مسقف و پیچ در پیچ است که حکایت از ساختاری دفاعی دارد. دو برج نگهبانی در دو سوی شهر بنا شده که در صورت هجوم رازنان، نگهبانان شهر با فریاد مردم را آگاه می کردند تا به کوه های مجاور شهر پناه برند و کسانی که توانایی دفاع از شهر داشتند تفنگ در دست می‌گرفتند. نایب حسین کاشی از نایبان کاشان معروفترین راهزنی بوده که به انارک یورش می‌برده. در یکی از این یورش ها یکی از اهالی انارک به نام ابراهیم سیاه فرزندش را هدف قرار می دهد و این بهانه ای می‌شود که نایب حسین اهالی انارک را به حمله با توپ تهدید کند و برای چند سال اهالی مجبور به ترک انارک می‌شوند. عده ای نیز هرگز به انارک باز‌نمی‌گردند. نکته‌ی جالب دیگر در مورد انارک زبان آن است که گویشی بخصوص بازمانده از پهلوی میانه است و در زبان‌شناسی جایگاه ویژه‌ای دارد. Some people never return to Anark. Another interesting thing about Anark is its language, which is a special dialect that survived from the Middle Pahlavi and has a special place in linguistics.
