I liked Al Mirani Fort very much! It’s a beautiful and historic place with almost no crowd, so you can explore peacefully and enjoy the surroundings. The views from the fort are amazing - you can see the sea, mountains, and the city of Muscat from the top. The architecture is impressive and gives a strong old-time Arabian vibe.

Nice heritage site, a bit on the expensive side I'd say, especially with the type of (or the lack of should I really say) vantage point. Also, not the best place to capture a picture of the setting sun which I think is more worth pursuing for, at the Mutrah Fort. However, there is a place of musallah there for when it's salaah time, so no need to get out of the building when the time comes.

Al Mirani Fort is beautifully restored and really well kept. The ticket isn’t cheap, but the bonus is that you can visit even late in the evening — around 10 pm the view over the lit-up old town is fantastic. There’s free parking right next to the fort, so getting in and out is easy. The whole place is comfortably walkable in about an hour without rushing. If you like forts with atmosphere and good views, this one is worth the stop, especially after sunset.

A beautiful restoration project that successfully meets modern needs while preserving its historic character. It was a pleasure to explore, and the fort offered a rich and engaging experience throughout. However, the ticket prices could have been more reasonable. In some areas, modern utility installations such as electrical cables and technical connections create visually intrusive elements that detract from the historic atmosphere. These could have been concealed more carefully to achieve a cleaner and more authentic appearance.

The ticket is a bit pricey 7 OMR per person but the view is absolutely amazing. It is not easy to access without a car. If you do come by bus, you can either walk, which is hot, or take a taxi. But you might have to walk back to bus ststion, as taxi is a bit hard to find or you might try Otaxi app.

Beautiful historic fort with amazing views over Old Muscat and the sea. Recently restored and very clean, and the scenery from the top is perfect for photos. A quick but worthwhile stop if you’re exploring the area.

اول شي المكان جميل لكن ينقصه تفاصيل كثيرة من الداخل واغلب الغرفة فاضيه القلعة ممكن تكون اطلاله على الاماكن الي جنبها لكن ما فيها تفاصيل تشدك إلا الاطلاله على قصر العلم والمباني التي بجانبك وسعر الدخول مرتفع ٤.٤٠٠ ريال عماني اتمنى من القائمين عليها بإضافة المزيد من التفاصيل والقطع التراثية لجذب الزوار للقلعة الجميلة

The entry fee is 4 OMR a bit high, but the fort is really well organized and worth a visit. You’ll need about 40 minutes to explore the whole place. There’s also a nice coffee shop on top with marvelous views. perfect spot to relax and take it all in!

There’s a lovely fort near the Royal Palace that offers stunning views of the city and its surroundings. It’s a small fort, but it’s well-kept and offers a peaceful escape. However, the entry fee is quite high, almost double what you’d pay for other, more impressive forts. I think it would be great if the rates were lowered, as it’s not quite worth the price.

المنظر من أعلى القلعة جميل ويعطي إطلالة حلوة على مطرح والبحر، لكن بصراحة ما يستاهل الرسوم المدفوعة (حوالي 3 ريالات للمقيمين). ما في أشياء مميزة داخل القلعة ولا محتوى يبرر السعر. وقت زيارتنا كان في عمال يجهزون لاحتفال، فالتجربة كانت محدودة وما حسّينا بأي شيء يستحق الزيارة.

Beautiful historic fort with amazing views over the harbour and Old Muscat. The location is stunning, especially looking toward Al Alam Palace and the sea. Very well preserved and peaceful, perfect for photos and getting a feel for Oman’s history. Definitely worth a visit.

We loved it....definitely worth to visit, to take Beautiful photoes with great views, to have a coffee ( indoors ,outdoors sitting area . To know a bit more about the place. Free parking available, but might be busy in public holidays. We loved the place

Interesting old Portugal fort. You cam enter on end in port side. About 15 Euro to enter, but you will get great views on city, harbor and government palace. Museum parts inside too, and even some restaurant. There is elevator to middle of fort

Al Mirani Fort is one of Muscat’s most iconic historical landmarks, majestically overlooking the harbor and guarding the old city alongside its twin fort, Al Jalali. Built in the 16th century during the Portuguese era, the fort reflects Oman’s strategic maritime importance and long history of defense and trade.

Al Mirani Fort is a lesser-known spot in Muscat, but absolutely worth a visit. It’s a beautiful historic landmark and close to other sights in the old town. Parking is right at the entrance, which is very convenient. When we visited, there was an art exhibition inside, and the entrance fee was OMR 22.00 for two adults. A lovely place to explore if you’re in Muscat.

A stunning place to be, specially in the evening, or during sunset, with beautiful views of the palace, sea and fort, with surrounding hills. Its a photographers paradise. You can just enjoy here walking, or pick a spot to spend a few hours.
