Social at the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah is a restaurant with a truly special culinary heritage. It was once the only Middle East restaurant of three-Michelin-star Italian chef Heinz Beck, which already speaks volumes about its foundation. Today, Social is led by Chef Carmine Faravolo, a talented young chef from a family of chefs, with multiple recognitions from Michelin guides and Gault&Millau. His cuisine is deeply rooted in his hometown of Naples, and many of the signature dishes on the current menu are inspired by traditional family recipes passed down through generations. What makes the experience even more touching is the story behind it: Chef Carmine’s grandmother, Nonna Maria, is now 87 years old and still actively involved in the spirit of the kitchen. I was told that she travels to Dubai twice a year to cook alongside her grandson for special four-hands Chef’s Table experiences, which says everything about how authentic and personal the food here is. The menu beautifully balances classic Italian cooking with thoughtful modern creativity. Everything tastes incredibly authentic, comforting, and refined at the same time — and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality and setting. Highly recommended dishes: • Nonna Maria Beef Polpette – soulful, comforting, and full of home-style flavor • Lobster Tagliatelle – perfectly cooked pasta with a rich yet elegant sauce • Cotoletta alla Milanese – crispy, generous, and done exactly right This is honest, delicious Italian food with heart, history, and passion. I truly loved my experience at Social and would absolutely come back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
