I stumbled upon a hidden gem during my trip to Kashan: the Handicrafts Bazaar-Museum. While many of the city's attractions are well-known, this place was a delightful surprise, off the beaten tourist path. Arriving around noon, I descended a few steps into a spacious cellar brimming with traditional weaving looms. Every conceivable type of textile—shawls, fabrics, kilims, carpets—was being crafted using time-honored techniques. The vibrant colors and intricate patterns were simply overwhelming. It was as if I’d stepped into a living, breathing tapestry. I snapped photos, but no image could truly capture the atmosphere of this place. It's a shame that this hidden treasure isn't more widely known. Best of all, admission is free! If you ever find yourself in Kashan, make sure to set aside some time to explore this fascinating museum. It's a wonderful way to immerse yourself in Iran's rich textile heritage.
