Dr. Khalifeh has specialized training in diagnosing and treating a wide range of disorders affecting the colon, rectum, and anus, including cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, fecal incontinence, and hemorrhoids.
One of her best-known works is the novel Wild Thorns (1976). She has won international prizes, including the 2006 Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature, for The Image, the Icon, and the Covenant. [2] Khalifeh obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Birzeit University, Palestine.
Sahar Khalifeh is the author of eleven novels, translated into fifteen languages, and the recipient of numerous prizes, including the Naguib Mahfouz Medal, the Simone de Beauvoir Prize and the Cervantes Prize.
